Faculty and Staff Who Know Their Students

At HCS, teachers do more than deliver lessons. They know their students, guide their growth, and help shape the classroom culture families value.

The People Behind the HCS Experience

A school is shaped by its people.

At Huntington Christian School, faculty and staff play a central role in the academic, spiritual, and relational life of the school. They teach, lead, encourage, correct, pray, listen, and help create the kind of environment where students can grow with confidence.

Teachers Who Lead With Skill and Care

Credentialed and Experienced

HCS teachers bring professional training, classroom experience, and a commitment to strong instruction.

Christ-Centered

Faculty and staff understand their work as more than a job. They help shape students through faith, character, and daily example.

Relational

Small class sizes allow teachers to know students personally and notice how they are growing academically and socially.

Invested in Student Growth

Teachers help students develop knowledge, habits, confidence, responsibility, and Christlike character over time.

Art Teacher with Student

Students Learn Best When They Are Known

At HCS, the relationship between teacher and student is part of the learning environment.

When teachers know their students well, they can recognize strengths, notice challenges early, and encourage students to keep growing. That kind of attention shapes more than academics. It shapes confidence, character, and belonging.

New Grade

Since 2018, I have had the privilege of teaching 3rd grade at Huntington Christian School. From the very first moment I stepped onto the HCS campus, I knew there was something truly special about this school. The teachers and staff demonstrate an unparalleled commitment to their students, creating an environment where children are deeply loved, encouraged, and guided in both academics and faith.

One of the greatest joys of teaching at HCS has been sharing God’s love with my students and watching their eyes sparkle as they discover that He is their Heavenly Father. I love weaving God’s Word throughout our 3rd grade curriculum and helping students connect Christian principles back to Scripture in meaningful and practical ways. My passion is to help students grow academically while also becoming spiritually grounded and filled with His truth.

Education:
University of San Diego, Bachelor of Arts in Communications & Psychology, Pepperdine University, Masters in Education, Teaching Credential K-8
Credentials:
Professional Clear California State Teaching Credential in grades K-8
A Note from Tecla:

"As a parent, I have also been incredibly blessed to have all three of my own children attend Huntington Christian School. Watching their academic abilities grow exponentially while being grounded in a strong biblical foundation has been one of the greatest gifts for our family. Their teachers poured into them with wisdom, encouragement, and Christ-centered love, helping shape not only who they are as students, but who they are as followers of Jesus. I have seen firsthand how HCS equips students to excel academically while developing a deep and personal faith in God. Seeing both my children and my students flourish spiritually and academically continually confirms what a special community HCS truly is."

Elizabeth Mosham

Fourth Grade

My name is Elizabeth Mosham and I’m very blessed to be part of the middle school teaching team. I am a proud Huntington Beach native, and have a deep-rooted passion for mentoring and working with students, both in church ministry and in the classroom.

I love teaching because middle school is such a formative time in students’ lives as they begin to grow into who God created them to be. I enjoy creating a classroom where students feel supported and encouraged while also being challenged to think deeply and grow in confidence. I believe learning is most meaningful when students can connect it to their own lives, and I love helping them see how both academics and biblical truth can shape the way they view the world.

One of my favorite parts of teaching at a Christian school is the opportunity to integrate biblical truth into daily learning and classroom conversations. I strive to encourage students not only academically, but also spiritually, helping them grow in character, compassion, and their relationship with Christ. My prayer is that students leave my classroom feeling known, supported, and inspired to use their God-given gifts for His purpose.

Those experiences shaped my passion for serving and mentoring the next generation. For over a decade, I have been involved in ministry opportunities working with kids and students, and I truly enjoy encouraging them as they learn and grow. Teaching allows me to combine my passion for education with my love for Christ each day. I love learning alongside my students while helping them grow academically, personally, and spiritually. Danuta Cloes

Middle School

I graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and hold my California Single Subject Teaching Credential in History/Social Science. I’ve been teaching middle school at HCS since 2023.

I am passionate about teaching history and helping students understand the people, cultures, and events that have shaped our world. I especially enjoy exploring how different societies interacted throughout history and encouraging students to think critically about the past and its impact on today.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to teach at HCS and help students grow academically and spiritually as we explore history and God’s creation together.

Credentials:
California Single Subject Teaching Credential in History/Social Science
A Note from Danuta:

"Soon before I started middle school, God put it on my heart to become a missionary. As a child, I believed that meant serving in another country, but over time, I’ve come to see that God has called me to share His love and the Gospel every day with my students and our school community. It is my joy to share God’s love with them and encourage them to grow in both faith and knowledge as they discover the unique gifts and purpose God has given each of them. "

Dori Rakhshani

My name is Dori Rakhshani, the oldest sister of nine siblings and the daughter of two amazing lifelong residents of Huntington Beach. I attended Eader Elementary, Sowers Middle School, and Edison High School. Today, it’s the same community I am blessed to serve everyday.

"Outside of being a teacher, I enjoy songwriting, surfing, worship, and teaching dance. These creative pursuits, combined with a deep love for mentoring youth, inspired my calling to become a teacher. My desire to teach English, specifically, was nurtured in large part by my 11th grade English teacher, Mr. Youd, whose engaging instruction and encouragement helped me recognize the power of language and the importance of fostering students’ voices through multigenre writing and literary analysis."

Maribel Allison

Fourth Grade

I have been teaching at HCS since 2006.

Education:
Vanguard University - BA in Psychology
Credentials:
CA Multiple Subject Credential and ACSI Teaching Credentail
A Note from Maribel:

"Teaching is about helping students believe in themselves. When teaching math and a student says "I don't understand," I tel them "You don't understand, yet." I love it when a smile breaks out on their face. Teaching is not just about grades or worksheets. It is about encouraging students when they feel unsure. It is about cheering for them when they finally understand something difficult. Students may not remember every lesson we teach, but they do remember how we made them feel. I also love being part of HCS because it feels like a family. People help each other, and we pray for students. When someone is having a hard day, there is usually another person ready to encourage them. That kind of kindness matters. I think even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. All of this reminds me why teaching is meaningful to me. Every day is a chance to help students learn, grow, and remember that Jesus loves them, and they are valued."

What a joy it was for me when God called me to teach at this school. I have spent every year being blessed by the students and families I get to work with. This school is not only the best place to work at, it is a family.

A Note from Joshua:

"I love teaching at HCS because I get to instill the love of Christ in every lesson. When I see former students out in the community, and they come up to me and give me a hug, I know that they felt that love in my classroom. Being called to teach is blessing, but being called to teach at a Christian school and teach about Jesus is humbling. Each day I get to grow in my love for the students and for Jesus."
