What classes and grade level(s) do you teach?
Fourth Grade
What do you love most about HCS?
I love the community at HCS. The relationships teachers can build with students and parents because of small class sizes are incredible.
Why do you like teaching at HCS?
I love teaching at HCS because it is truly an amazing place to be. The close knit community, the collaboration among teachers and staff, as well as supportive and involved families are what make HCS so special.
What is one word that best describes the school? Tell us why you chose that word.
Positive. The environment is a positive place for learning. The teachers and staff are positive people. We are positive and happy because our joy, strength, and purpose come from the Lord.
How do you integrate faith and learning at HCS?
I love that I am able to integrate faith into every subject area and promote Biblical characteristics for my students. We take time to share prayer requests and open every day in prayer to get our minds right before the Lord at the start of our school day. Bible is more than just a subject we study. It is an integral part of our school day and the reason we study. “Do all to the glory of God” 1 Corinthians 10:31
What is a unique experience, talent or interest that you bring to your classroom to help shape the learning experience of your students?
I love bringing new ideas to the curriculum, whether that is a new technology tool or a new song to help students remember a math concept. I bring a love of and passion for learning that I hope is contagious for all of my students.
What sets HCS students apart from other students?
HCS students stand apart from other students in their academics but also in character. With a mind trained towards Christ-likeness, students care for each other and take pride in their learning.
