My name is Dori Rakhshani, the oldest sister of nine siblings and the daughter of two amazing lifelong residents of Huntington Beach. I attended Eader Elementary, Sowers Middle School, and Edison High School. My early experiences at Eader and Sowers instilled in me a lasting love for my community, rooted in the kindness and connectedness of the students, parents, and teachers. Today, it’s the same community I am blessed to serve everyday.

"Outside of being a teacher, I enjoy songwriting, surfing, worship, and teaching dance. These creative pursuits, combined with a deep love for mentoring youth, inspired my calling to become a teacher. My desire to teach English, specifically, was nurtured in large part by my 11th grade English teacher, Mr. Youd, whose engaging instruction and encouragement helped me recognize the power of language and the importance of fostering students’ voices through multigenre writing and literary analysis."
